FAUX NEWS BOWLS THEM OVER WITH SUPER PREDICTIONS

The legendary baseball Hall of fame pitcher Dizzy Dean was credited with having said "it aint bragging if you can do it". So as to our Super Bowl predictions, cretainly it can't be bragging since we did it. And while we don't wish to encourage gambling, unless we are the ones doing it and we win, anyone who read our prediction knew just what plays to make. To review, the two key lines were the Pittsburgh Steelers were favored by 7 points, and the "under/over" was 46.5. Our prediction of 30-24 while not exact was precise enough to win if followed in both respects. First, the total of 54 points indicated we favored the over (the actual total was 50), and our prediction of a 6 point margin of victory (the actual was 4) had the Arizona Cardinals as winners against the spread.

We could quietly (no, thats not us) retire from the sports prediction venue, but keeping with our prionciple that "we may not always be right but we're always sure" we predict that we'll predict again.

P.S. Last spring we did make another prediction, namely that the under/over in wins for the NY Yankees at 94.5 was absurdly high given their relatively young and unproven pitching. They finished with 89 wins and then only with a late surge to do so. We've often said of former President Bush his problem was not so much that he had a will of iron, but that he seemed to have a whim of iron, we approach sports nostradomy with the same degree of gravitas. Spring training is near...enjoy!
